Peter_COO_SCTI	We currently have SCTI affiliate clinics where we treat patients in Kiev, Ukraine, Georgia Republic; we have a number of clinics and hospitals in Tijuana, Mexico which are accessible to patients from San Diego, CA. in the USA. In addition we have an affiliate clinic in Cordoba, Argentina and in the Caribbean that will be treating patients soon as well. Peter_COO_SCTI	Now let me take a few moments to discuss a bit about stem cells and how they work in the human body.
Peter_COO_SCTI	First I want to make an important statement here concerning the treatment of any patients with stem cell transplantation therapy. Stem cells are not a magic pill solution to all degenerative conditions. To us, every single patient is a unique individual with their own unique condition and a unique potential recovery prognosis.
Peter_COO_SCTI	This therapy is similar to the process of organ transplantation, only the treatment consists of the transplantation of stem cells to repair the organ at a cellular level rather than replace the entire organ, thus eliminating any chance of rejection, major surgery or the need for expensive and potentially dangerous immunosuppression drug therapy.
Peter_COO_SCTI	We address everyone’s case individually and make a determination if any of our various stem cell transplantation treatment protocols will be effective based on the patients’ current condition. I will describe this procedure that we have developed later on in the presentation.
Peter_COO_SCTI	For the purposes of this discussion, stem cells can be derived from different sources. They can be derived from bone marrow (adult stem cells); stem cells derived from the placenta also known as “cord blood” stem cells. During embryonic formation and development, the majority of stem cells stay in the placenta and umbilical cord.
Peter_COO_SCTI	Currently embryonic stem cells are only used for research purposes. They have a tendency to tumorize or become cells that you do not want them to become. Stem Cell Therapy International’s treatment protocols provides all of the other type of stem cells and has a patented allo (human) stem cell biological solution that contains various nutrients and human growth hormones which helps promote cell regeneration.
Peter_COO_SCTI	Stem cells are the body’ master cells and are the fundamental principle of an organism. They have the unique ability to develop into all 220 types of specialized cells and tissue types that make up the human body.
Peter_COO_SCTI	When a stem cell divides, the new cells have the potential to remain a stem cell or develop into a specialized cell with a specific functions like neural tissue, heart muscle, liver, pancreas, kidney, blood cells, muscle cells, etc.
Peter_COO_SCTI	The treatment protocol we develop for each patient is different depending on a number of factors and the current medical condition of the patient. Basically, the success of our unique transplantation therapy consists of IM (intra-muscular) injections of stem cell and an IV (intravenous) transfusion of a large amount
Peter_COO_SCTI	(600MM to one Billion) of the patented human undifferentiated stem cells in a biological solution into the patient’s blood stream. This allows for the regeneration of the damaged areas of the body and a rejuvenating regeneration of other cells, tissue and organs within the body.
Peter_COO_SCTI	As the stem cells circulate through the blood stream they are able to detect damaged tissue or injured cells. The damaged cells secrete an enzyme called Chemokine or SDF-1. Since stem cells have Chemokine receptors they are able to migrate towards the damaged area.
Peter_COO_SCTI	This is the principal that is referred to as “homing.”
Peter_COO_SCTI	The stem cells find the damaged area, attach themselves and will begin to regenerate into new cells, replacing the patients damaged cells. Like the brain and neural tissue in stroke patients.
Peter_COO_SCTI	People who have experienced strokes have to deal with many complicated physiological issues, symptoms and complications. When blood flow to the brain is impaired, oxygen and important nutrients cannot be delivered. The initial result is abnormal brain function. That is, normal physiological functions of the body all of which are controlled by the brain become affected.
Peter_COO_SCTI	Symptoms like weakness or paralysis on one side of the body or the other, partial or complete loss of voluntary movement and/or sensation in a leg or arm, speech problems, weak muscles of the face, numbness or tingling of the leg, arm or face. A stroke involving the base of the brain can affect balance, vision, swallowing functions, difficulty in breathing and even unconsciousness.
Peter_COO_SCTI	But I realize that I am preaching to the choir here.
Peter_COO_SCTI	The key here is the ability of undifferentiated stem cells to be introduced into the body via intravenous injections or injected sub duraly (directly into the spinal column) and for them to differentiate into cells that are typically found in the brain, in the neural tissue and in the blood stream as well as the cells of the other organs in the body to restore, regenerate and rejuvenate their function.

Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>It has to do with the size of the stroke, the sequele and the general condition of the patient. The sooner the better, but we do not have a limit.
Deenie	<Q>I read last nite on the suggested read that frontal brain injury is only condusive to fetal stems cells
Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>Fetal stem cells are most effective and efficient in the treatment. But other cells can be used as well.
achandra	<Q>also is ur therapy FDA approved or have any idea when it will be available in US
Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>This therapy is currently not approved in the US. It is approved in the Ukraine and a number of other countries which is why our clinics are all offshore.
smallory	<Q>how many treatments are necessary, in total
Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>The treatment begins to show results within the first few days and will continue for up to one year. It really depends on the condition and response of the patient.
smallory	<Q>are you researching how to treat brainstem stroke or are the treatments same as the typical stroke?
Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>The brainstem cells are more primitive and will be the same as the regular stroke patients. It really depends on the condition. Each case has to be more specific.

Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>It is a combination of of injection of stem cells into the spinal fluid followed by oxygen therapy.

Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>The more patients that we treat, hopefully the price will be reduced because of the volume.
hostbonnie	<Q>Is the number of injections needed based on the conditin of the patient. Or do you watch the response over the 5 days
Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>There is a single injection of a large amount of stem cells into the center of the spinal collum whrer the fluid is located. You will be able to see results after a few days but the stem cells will continue to regenerate for many months.
smallory	<Q>does a patient need to stop taking all medication while being treated?
Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>Patients cannot continue to take certin medications such as antibiotics for a short period of time. They will interfere with the stem cells regeneration progress.
jriva	<Q>Are the treatments painful at all?
Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>The stem cell treatmenta are not any more painfull than a blood transfusion.

Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>The stem cells take on the identity of your existing cells. They basically regenerate the various cells of the organs of the body.

Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>Currently, since the treatment is not FDA approved. Insurance is not going to cover this treatment that has to be done in other countries.

Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>We take each patient as an individual case study. We evaluate if the patients current condition can be helped by stem cell therapy by out Medical and Scientific Advisory Board.
smallory	<Q>how does the consumer know whether they are being treated by an accredited stem cell therapy company?
Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>You have to be very carefull about choosing a stem cell company for treatment. There is a lot of fraud out there and questionable treatmnet proceedures. SCTI is a public us company and we are working with the FDA and the proper ministries and agencies of other countries that allow stem cell transplantation therapy. We have a responsibility to our patients, shareholders and the SEC.
smallory	<Q>are the pharmacy companies working to prevent stem cell therapy from happening in the states
Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>Not to cause any problems, but how would the pharma companies like to see a cure for MS, Diabetes, improve and long lasting stroke treatmnet? What will they do with all their drugs?
jriva	<Q>How are the donated stem cells screened to be sure they aren't introducing a genetic disease into you?
Peter_COO_SCTI	<A>We have a Quality Control and Quality Assurance proceedure in place as we harvest the cells, as they are frozen for storage and then each dose that is thawed for use has a Certificate of Quality.
